Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

Is it a bird? Yes it is. An angry one that drops exploding eggs on mischievous pigs.

Is it a plane? Yes. It’s also a racing car.

And it’s a spirit-level, and a clock, a compass and a global-position mapping and guidance system. It has a satellite picture of your house, from the week you had the scaffolding up.

It’s a movie camera: high-definition or 1970s dust-speckled film grain. It can plot your pictures on a map of the World. It’s a guitar-tuner, an ancient flute-like wind instrument, a digital recording-studio and an instant global publisher. It’s tv and radio. It’s a showcase of short films or an endless music video jukebox.

A chat with your friends, their wedding photos on your coffee table, their baby pictures in your pocket. A train timetable and ticket office so you can go and see them more easily. A takeaway menu from the trendy noodle bar and a good wine guide.

But it can’t open bottles. Perhaps in iOS5?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a telephone.

The Hit: Howard Marks

howard-marks

Plan. Meticulously pack a selection of technology, widgets and wires into two compact bags. Take the train to the city. Check into the hotel and secure the bags. Collect the package. Return to the hotel and set up a tripod in the window overlooking the service bays. Strip down, check and charge. Pack again. Track the target, from his club to the radio studio. Infiltrate the group, access the studio and take the corner. Aim and shoot…

Howard Marks is so still, he makes a tricky target. The calm centre of a vortex, people swirl around and you can’t get a clear shot. The posh ladies love bach and the soho dealers respect Mr. Nice. He’s got the belly of the Buddha, the smile and a true laugh.

Author, restauranteur and teacher… Howard has hit-men as friends. So watch out!

Royal Air Force Museum

raf-museum

The Royal Air Force Museum is an amazing place.

Where else can you see over 100 genuine aircraft, including a Lancaster Bomber, Spitfires, Hurricanes and a Eurofighter Typhoon? Where else can you arrange a 1940s wartime lesson for a group of school kids? Where else can you research your ancestor who did his bit over the skies of Europe?

On their website of course!

The Flipnotist

Dr. Kevin Dutton

Dr. Kevin Dutton is a psychologist, expert on the science of social influence, research fellow at the University of Cambridge and best-selling author of Flipnosis – The Art of Split-Second Persuasion.

When he’s not writing books, he’s hanging out with actors, musicians, special forces, international-playboy-drug-dealers, monty pythons and geeks… like me.

I take care of his websites and social media.

At the moment Kev is promoting the Great British Psychopath Survey. How much of the psychopath lurks in you?
